They say life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass but learning how to dance in the rain and this couple did just that. Sophie and David's wedding was an absolutely stunning day, kicking off with the ceremony at our beautiful beach front location in Putiki Bay. The lovely summer trees swayed behind creating the most picturesque backdrop.
Their reception was set up under the stars and the afternoon was a breeze: stunning and not too warm for a January day. Special touches from Sophia at My Waiheke Weddings made the setup feel very personal and unique with bare wooden trestle tables and Balinese bamboo chairs. Simplistic and rustic touches of floristry from the team at Wildflowers made for the perfect setting, teamed with the greenery of the vines in the background.
Just after mains were served the clouds burst opened as DJ Mix IT played “I bless the rains down in Africa, by TOTO”! The couple and their guests embraced the moment and danced away in the rain. Nothing could wipe the grins off of their faces as they celebrated such a beautiful moment with their closest friends and family.
Definitely up there with our favourite weddings here at Goldie and something we felt honored to be a part of.
