Only three weeks after winning two gold medals at the Romeo Bragato Wine Awards, we have struck gold again, this time at the New Zealand International Wine Show. The New Zealand International Wine Show is New Zealand’s largest wine show, with over 2000 wines judged over 3 days. We were awarded two gold medals for our Goldie Estate Reserve Syrah 2014 and Goldie Estate Reserve Viognier 2015. In addition to the gold, we also received three silver and two bronze awards.
“We are very pleased to receive back to back gold medals for our Reserve Syrah as it shows the potential and exciting future Syrah hold for Goldie Estate and Waiheke Island. We are competing against the very best in New Zealand and proving that we can compete on a high level consistently. The Reserve Viognier was a big surprise, as we only produce a small amount every other year. It is a very hard variety to get right, you really need all the stars to align to get the perfect balance between fruit ripeness, structure and mouth feel” says our winemaker Heinrich Storm.
Just to top the gold medals off, we were thrilled to see the Reserve Viognier also get a mention in the NZ Herald over the weekend. This delicious drop is available to purchase through our online store but be warned, stocks are limited! To read the full review by Yvonne Lorkin click here
